Sam is a gynaecologist who has devoted his training to excellence in women’s health. He has spent the last ten years training in and pursuing the specialty of gynaecology and has gained further experience in advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery. He is accredited to perform laparoscopic gynaecological surgery at the highest skill level (AGES Level 6) and has also completed a Masters of Minimally Invasive Surgery.

He has a special interest in endometriosis and pelvic pain, prolapse, urinary incontinence,  ovarian cysts, fibroids, abnormal cervical screening tests and abnormal uterine bleeding. He provides non-mesh alternatives to urinary incontinence and can conduct urodynamic studies on all his patients.

James Cook University provides an undergraduate six year intensive medical qualification. Following completion of this qualification, a one year medical internship then has to be completed to gain full medical registration.

MASTERS OF MINIMALLY INVASIVE SURGERY, UNIVERSITY OF ADELAIDE, SOUTH AUSTRALIA.


This is a higher postgraduate qualification reflecting additional study and training in the area of minimally invasive surgery with a strong emphasis on robotics. This masters focussed on the foundations of surgery, learning from the leading surgeons both theoretically and practically whilst also providing a platform to embrace any future developments and innovations in the area.

FELLOWSHIP OF THE AUSTRALIAN AND NEW ZEALAND COLLEGE OF OBSTETRICIANS AND GYNAECOLOGISTS (FRANZCOG).

This qualification represents specialist qualification in Obstetrics and Gynaecology by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). A clinician must obtain a fellowship after undertaking a minimum of six years in specialist training by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College.

FELLOWSHIP IN THE AUSTRALIAN GYNAECOLOGICAL ENDOSCOPY & SURGERY SOCIETY.


This qualification reflects an additional two years of training in minimally invasive advanced laparoscopic surgery. This was undertaken at the Sydney Women’s Endosurgery Centre (SWEC) under eminent leading surgeons in Australia. It represents an additional qualification above FRANZCOG accrediting the practitioner to perform gynaecological surgery at the highest skill level (AGES level 6).
